Check Out Riley's "Slot" box Bluebird Houses
|Pictured above is the entrance door to this "East Texas Red
Cedar" Bluebird house. At the back you can see the pin that keeps
the door in the locked position. Remove the pin and the door opens
to reveal the nesting area.
|The entrance hole to these bird houses is 1½" in
diameter. Below the entrance hole are 3 scribes for ease of entry
for Mr./Mrs. Bluebird.
|The above picture shows the ventilation slots at
the top of the Bluebird house.
|This picture shows the latch pin and the door knob to the access
door of the house. The pin is installed in a downward angle to
prevent the pin from working out and getting lost.
|This photo show the access door partially open.
|This photo show the access door fully open to inspect or clean
the inside of the Bluebird house.
|Notice the scribes area inside the house.
Nestlings will need these in order to leave the nest.
|A NOTE TO RILEY'S CUSTOMERS
Riley is excited about the chance to make some money while at the
same time helping you to join in the effort to increase the
population of Bluebirds. We want you,
Riley's customer, to know something about the precautions we (Dad &
Papaw) take to insure that Riley is ALWAYS safe. We don't let Riley
use any of the saws. We cut all the pieces for him. Riley is ALWAYS
supervised when he is working on one of his birdhouses. He places
the pieces in a pre-made jig we built for him, glues them up and
nails or screws the pieces in place. The only piece of machinery we allow
Riley to use is an orbital sander and a cordless screw gun, which
poses no danger to him. We are proud of the fact that Riley is
building beautiful Bluebird houses while at the same time he is
building a great work ethic. Riley thanks you for your business and
we (Jarrod & PaPaw) thank you for supporting him in his endeavor.
